The content for the Level 2 Course is delivered online meaning you can start learning as soon as you enrol. We know how busy your life can be juggling work, kids and a social life so the course is designed for you to learn in your own time at your own pace – with full support from our course tutors.

How it Works

As soon as you start your course, you’ll be able to access all the online content via our website and app.

During this time we’ll cover:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Principles of Exercise, Fitness and Health
  • An Introduction to Nutrition

You’ll also need to attend two practical workshops to be taught how to coach and instruct clients in a gym based environment. Plus, we’ll cover how to deliver client consultations, how to programme to match a clients goal; and how to establish the all important client rapport and retention. Once you’re done you will have all the skills to enable you to analyse a clients activity and wellbeing and to have the knowledge to advise on their weekly training, lifestyle and nutritional regimes.

Upon completion of this course, you will have the opportunity to progress immediately onto the Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training.

Structure

Your online content will include:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Principles of Exercise, Fitness and Health
  • An Introduction to Nutrition

The practical workshops will teach you how to programme and coach others through the following:

  • Free Weight Lifts – Including the ‘Big 5 Lifts’: Squats, Deadlifts, Overhead Presses, Cleans, and Lunges
  • Resistance Machines
  • Cardiovascular Machines
  • Body Weight Exercises
  • Warm up and Cool Down – Including Mobility, Flexibility, and Foam Rolling

All these practical skills are essential to not just work in a gym environment, but to enable you to have the foundational skills to be an effective Personal Trainer.

Qualification

The Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing is governed by City & Guilds and is industry recognised, both in the United Kingdom and Worldwide, meaning you can work as a Fitness Instructor almost anywhere in the world.

Upon completion of our qualifications, you’ll also be able to gain membership with the standardising body for the Health and Fitness Industry, the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).
