Do you need a website? Should you just use Social Media to drive and advertise your business? Some would say you don’t need a website… this is said because Social Media can give you such a good advertising platform. BUT, is this RIGHT??
Fitter, Stronger, Leaner Workout: Targeting Shoulders and Abdominals
Fitter, Stronger, Leaner Workout! This session targets shoulders and abdominals. By limiting the rest between exercises and rounds, this session is great for muscle endurance, working the cardiovascular system, and for spiking the metabolic rate (fat burning at rest)! Give it a go…..
My advice to help build any fitness business is to create a business and a marketing plan. Decide first of all what your business objectives are and how are you going to build on this from your first month to the next, and then from the first year to the next and so on.
This is an example of a Post Exhaust set method, targeting the Latissimus Dorsi predominantly. This method works by doing a compound exercise first, then super-setting straight into an isolated exercise on the same target muscle group. The Lat Pulldown works the Latissimus Dorsi and the Biceps, the Straight Arm Pulldown then isolates the Latissimus […]

Have you helped clients achieve their New Years Resolutions?
We all read about, see and experience the gym rush that occurs every January. This is not a bad thing, as it can sometimes be portrayed. It is great that so many individuals sit down and reflect over the Christmas break and come up with the conclusion that they want to do something about their fitness, health and well-being.
What makes a successful Personal Trainer – Part One
We start our Personal Trainer course by teaching students Anatomy and Physiology. Understanding the fundamentals of each system of the human body is a must when it comes to delivering exercise to others. Unfortunately this knowledge is sometimes learnt and quickly forgotten.

Mat Williams of Edufit and Adam Leaver of APL Core Training utilising the BattleRopes on our PT course last year. Using BattleRopes around resistance training is great for conditioning. It increases muscular endurance, raises metabolic rate, targets your core and works on the functional ability of the body.
On our Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training course, we have put a lot of effort into delivering practical workshops that introduces a learner to not only different training methods but also other techniques that fitness professionals should have in their repertoire.

A method of training that I utilise for myself and for my clients on a weekly basis. Dependant on goal and capability, this method will suit most individuals with different goals, ranging from weight loss to increased fitness to improved athletic performance .
With the London Marathon upon us this weekend, it has inspired me to write a quick article to highlight the hard work, training, and dedication that these competitors would have put in over the course of the last few months.
Training for Weight Loss… Do you follow these simple rules?
How many of these rules do you apply? In my experience, I have met too many individuals who try to lose weight but to no success. This is not because they do not try hard enough, it is simply because they apply the wrong principles.
The fitness industry has definitely become more diverse over the last decade. It is no longer just about joining a gym and being given a generic programme. These days you are offered Personal Trainers, Kettlebell Classes, Outdoor Boot Camps, CrossFit Centres, Strength and Conditioning Gyms and so much more. The common trend that all these offer, and rightly so, is functional training. Individuals are being offered so much more variety and given more of a chance to train like an athlete.
